Thunder Trade Giddey to Bulls for Caruso

First Trade of NBA Offseason Completed

Caruso a Better Three-Point Shooter than Giddey

The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Josh Giddey to the Chicago Bulls for Alex Caruso on Saturday afternoon.

The deal is the first of the NBA offseason so far.

Giddey was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Thunder.

The 20-year-old averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game in his rookie season.

Caruso, 28, averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game for the Bulls last season.

He is a better three-point shooter than Giddey, shooting 37.4% from beyond the arc last season compared to Giddey's 26.3%.

The Thunder are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA next season, while the Bulls are hoping to make a playoff run.

Caruso will be a valuable addition to the Bulls, while Giddey will get a chance to play for a more competitive team.
