Texans Vs Bears Defense

Texans Shred Bears Defense in Preseason Opener

Second-String Unit Gets Trounced by Houston Backups

Bears fans were in for a rude awakening in the Hall of Fame Game as the team's second-string defense was mercilessly shredded by the Houston Texans' backup quarterbacks.

Mills and Case Run Wild

Davis Mills, Houston's rising star, and Chris Case, a lesser-known third-stringer, found holes in the Bears' defense with ease. Mills threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the first half alone, while Case added another 120 yards and a touchdown through the air.

The Texans capitalized on the Bears' defensive miscues, scoring four touchdowns in the first half to take a commanding lead. The Bears offense, on the other hand, struggled to keep pace as quarterback Justin Fields was held to 100 passing yards and no touchdowns.

Preview of Things to Come?

While it's important to note that this was only a preseason game, the Bears' defensive performance raised concerns about the team's depth. If the second-string unit can't hold up against backups, it could be a long season in Chicago.

However, fans should also take some solace in the fact that the Bears' starting defense, which includes All-Pro pass rusher Khalil Mack, was not on the field for this game. The true test of the Bears' defense will come when the regular season begins.
